New Fall release at Lalaland Crafts!

Hey all! It's World Card-making Day today and in celebration of this wonderful occasion, I wanted to announce that Lalaland Crafts is releasing a new series of fall 2011 stamps along with a Harajuku line going on sale today!!
They are super cute and so versatile too!!! The stamps are on pre-order and orders placed today will be sent out before Oct.15th. I used this super-cute image of Big Panda Marci and she is colored with Copics. Here's a list of the colors I used: Skin: E00, E000, E11, E21, R20, BV000, Hair: Y32, E31, E33, E35, Clothing: RV02, RV04, RV06, R85, C1,C3, C5, C7, C9, Panda: C1, C3, C7, C9, W1, R00, R20
And now, on to some other news-sadly, this is my last creation with LaLaland Crafts as I am taking some more university courses for my Post-Bac degree, am teaching full-time and juggling being a single parent as well and I can't commit my time fully anywhere else. Many of you crafters are living similar situations as I am, but I just feel that I'm not working to my fullest potential and when I feel let down with my creations, I feel I'm letting my team down as well.
And so, I would like to thank Irina for having given me this great opportunity to create on such a wonderful design team and I wish all the DT nothing but the best as they are a wonderful group of ladies with outstanding talent. Thanks again-God Bless! xox Trish :)

Inspirational Monday-Use Fall Colors!

Hey all! Well, I finally caught my first back to school cold...ugh...was actually surprised that it happened this late in the month..usually I get one after the first week back in school-LOL!! Ahhh, the perks of being a teacher!!!

It's time for another Inspirational Monday over at Lalaland Crafts and the theme is to use Fall colors in your creations! I've used Sitting Marci as my image and the papers are from Basic Grey and were a gift from my good friend Prairie Fairy. I love the warmth of these colors and I also used this awesome crochet lace that I received for my B-day from my good friend, Lori. Thanks gals!!! The little leaves are from Dollarama-I bought those last year at Christmas time on sale-lol!

Marci is colored with Copics and Prisma Color pencils. here is the list: Hair: E13, E25, E29, E59, E49, Skin: E000, E00, E11, E21, R20; Prisma Color Pencils: 1028, 1031, 1027, 1088.

Hey all! Just wanted to share this card that I made last month at my son's request. He saw this adorable image from Pollycraft from the Swings and Slides collection and insisted I buy it and make a card for his soccer coach. He told me "Coach won't like girlie stuff, so make it manly!!" I just about burst my sides from laughing so hard!!

I'm only going to give it at the end of soccer season, as they're only having their first game tonight after the summer vacation break. BTW, I think this image totally looks like my son-shaggy hair right now and big brown eyes!! Hope u like! Enjoy your day! xox Trish :)

Hey all! Yes, it's Monday again and that means it's time for another theme this week over at Lalaland Crafts. The theme this week is to use a doily in your creation. I got this mini pack of Pyress Papers from Basic Grey for my B-day and I love the color scheme!! Inspirational Monday- Anything But A Card and Last Week's Stitching-Real or Faux!

Grrrr! Hey all-has anybody else been having a love/hate relationship with Blogger or is it just me and my computer!!!! Happy Labour Day to all, and it saddens me that I have to see my Summer holidays end and re-enter the world of the working class tomorrow...ugh. My kids are excited about starting school, so I guess that's a sign that they've had their fill of Summer and are ready to hit the books-LOL !!
So, today is Inspirational Monday over at Lalaland Crafts and the challenge this week is to make a creation other than a card. I used Pumpkin Marci and just used her head to fit in this super-cute bookmark that was made for me by a friend.
Last week's challenge was to add some real or faux stitching to your creation. That post was impossible to publish...it just kept saying Error!! I used my machine to sew around the card, but u can't really see the stitches, unless u zoom into the photo...ugh!
I used the Mermaid Marci image for the second creation and she is colored with Copics. Here's a list of how I've colored her:

Hey gang! Finally back from my trip to the Maritimes....It was great, could have stayed there forever-LOL. But alas, I had to leave the alter-ego behind me and come back home to my regular life. So, it's been forever since I posted a card for Fairy Fun Fridays challenge, but the DT split the crafting responsibility for the summer, so we'd have a longer break. Lori A is the host for this challenge and she chose the photo above for inspiration.

I used this super-cute image of Mermaid Marci.I've been seeing the use of cheescloth more and more on cards and love it-but was afraid to use it! I saw my good friend Lori use some cheesecloth on a mermaid card she made about a month or so ago and loved the flowy look so much, I decided to incorporate some here as well-it turned out alright I think. There wasn't enough room for my usual flowers!! LOL-The sentiment is from Pink Cat Studio.

Make an Ornament!

Hey all! OMG-I just went on my blog and I posted this for July 18th instead of the 17th-no wonder I couldn't see this post-jumping ahead of myself here! This creation for Totally Tilda's challenge was supposed to be posted this morning!! Oy vay! So this is the challenge-make an ornament using a Tilda image of course! I used an old CD -passed a ribbon through it, glued a doily behind the shiny side ( it looks really shiny and glittery when it turns and catches the light) and then some DP on the front. Add Tilda and some WOC flowers and voilà! I'm pleased with the result! Hope u like! xox Trish :)

Hey all! So sorry I haven't been posting cards lately-it's just been so gorgeous here and I've been away for a few days camping with my kids and soaking in the sun-just haven't had time to craft!

Hey all! Woooohooo! It's finally the last day of school- at least for the kids-I still have to come for an Admin. day-but it'll be quiet and quick day!! Here's another teacher appreciation card I wanted to share. I made this one for the K-1 teacher who is leaving our little school after teaching for 3 years. She is getting married in a few weeks and their hometown is a few hours away, so it only makes sense that she would want to teacher closer to her new home and hubby! Hi gang! It's beautiful and sunny here this morning-bring on the heat! 2 days and counting until Summer holidays! In preparation for this glorious event, I've made another card using Whiff of Joy's newest "Back to School" collection of stamps. This one is for my baby sister, whom is also a teacher and teaches my daughter 3rd grade. If you're confused-don't be, I'll give you the 411. I have two sisters, one older, one younger and yes, we're all teachers!! In 1999, we all taught in the same school, until I went on maternity leave! I also have 3 cousins whom are teachers and 4 aunts, whom were some of the best teachers I had growing up. My mom was also a teacher in the late 60s, early 70s! Lol-so it's in our blood, I guess! Hey all! Yaaay! I'm finally finished all my report cards, so I actually had time to craft something!! I have to admit that this challenge to use acetate over at MDUC intimidated me at first, but I'm happy with how it turned out. I made this for a very special and patient lady who has put a lot of perspective back into my life. I hope she likes it-she likes my card so far!! I printed the acetate in a color printer, but I got some butterfly background images- copied and resized them into a Word document and then voilà-printed acetate! Hey gang! That's right, it's time for another challenge over at Totally Tilda. The theme for this one is to make any creation, other than a Tilda card-so get crafty! Yes, I've showcased these type of boxes already, but once my nieces saw the ones I made for my kids, they absolutely wanted one also. So, I made two and I got a Lalaloopsy doll in exchange for my daughter!! Fair deal? Have you seen these dolls? My daughter has two now and is absolutely in love with them!! Their heads are hard rubber and they can't even sit or stand, because their heads are so heavy!! Plus, they have these button eyes that remind me of Tim Buton's film, Coraline!! Hey gang! It`s so bright and sunny right now! Yay! Soooo excited right now too! I won over at MDUC!! My first win! I`m seriously on cloud nine right now-but woke up way too early as there was a chainsaw going off and and an excavator next door, and we Prairie Fairy girls had a late night coloring last night! I found out about the win from my good friend Lori! So, I`m sharing with all of you now! I had to share this card, as my son has clearly pointed out that I have tons of froo-froo cards, but barely any boy cards-so I`m on a mission-to make at least 20 male cards before the end of July! Hey all! What a blunder this post has been. I've been busy all day and I just had a chance to see what comments I got on this card to see that my card wasn't even posted! Eeek! I searched my scheduled posts to see if there was anything there-nada. I knew I had scheduled it last week, but then I looked in my drafts and there it was!! Speedy Recovery Mark!

Hey gang! I made this card yesterday for my colleague, Mark, who is also my educator's assistant. This past Friday, he was playing soccer outside with my students, fell in a rut/hole and he really sprained his ankle to the point where his tendons were severely stretched-not snapped, thankfully. I had to rush him to the ER and everything, as I was acting principal. Oh the drama, as I had to rush my nephew the day before for stitches! I may have missed my calling as a paramedic! LOL! He's off work for the next 3 weeks and I'm going to go insane without his help in my Math classes, as he works with my more needy students!
Before he started working as an E.A., he was a bush pilot. He still loves to fly, so I thought he might like this card. The image is Pilot Luka, from Lalaland Crafts. I colored him using Copics and Prisma pencils. My sister thinks it looks too babyish. I think he'll appreciate it though. If he doesn't- not my problem-it's the thought, right? Use More Than One Fold!

Happy Friday gang! It's time for another challenge over at Fairy Fun Fridays. The theme this time around is to incorporate more than one fold. I have to say, I feel out of my element when it comes to extra folds, easels, etc..., but I like the way this turned out. I punched the edges with Martha Stewart's doily lace punch and I'm pleased with the effect. I used this super cute Gillian image is available at Prairie Fairie's site and she is available already colored. I printed the color version, as I knew I was running behind-but I enhanced a lot of areas with my Copics. Should have just colored it!LOL. My papers are K& Company and the polka dot green paper is Imaginisce, I believe. Hey gang-I wanted to post this last night and my lap-top wasn't working, couldn't figure it out-it was plugged in, I had an internet signal-nothing-Finally I noticed that my cord was disconnected where that heavy boxy thing is half-way down the cord!!! Duuuuh! So now I can finally post. This cutie is Tilda with Daffodil from the Butterfly Dreams Collection. The flowers and daisy chain lace are from WOC and the daffodils are from blog candy I won a few weeks ago. Thanks again Dawn! I colored her with Copics and used Kraftstock to follow Magnolia Down Under's Challenge theme this week. I even quilled the karftstock and tucked it between the flowers for a different effect. Hey all! Happy Mother's Day! I know I'm going to enjoy it relaxing with my kids outside, as it looks pretty sunny out there already! Hey gang! Sheesh-where has the week gone? I haven't had a chance to make a thing this week! Hey gang! We've been enjoying nice weather here for the past few days-haven't had to wear a jacket- I raked my front yard and half of the back last night and can hardly move my arms today. Good thing I finished this card on Mon. night LOL! This super cute image is from Penny Black and her name is Mimi with bicycle or bicycle Mimi-I can't remember, but she's adorable and I think she fits perfectly with these Bo Bunny Vicki B papers! I love the colors in this collection!

So, I've been watching crocheting tutorials on You tube, as I've used my last crocheted flower on this card. To be honest, I think I can do it, but I'm scared to attempt it-anyone know where to buy little ones like this one and not on e-bay, 'cause they look huge there, as well as expensive.

Happy Easter everyone!! I wish everyone a relaxing day filled with family, friends and lots of laughter! We had our big supper last night along with the big Easter Egg Hunt outside with all my nieces and nephews, as well as my kids-it was great and the weather was co-operating for a change too! Hey all-Yes another post for Friday. I was pleased to learn that I was a winner at Raise the Bar challenge last week! So, I'm guest "Bartending" this week. I've never used this super-cute magnolia image of Edwin-but I just think he's adorable!! I think this card would make an adorable B-day card for a boy-it would have gone perfect in my son's last bedroom, as he had a nautical theme when he was younger. I asked if he wanted to keep it and he just rolled his eyes "Noooo!" he groaned! LOL. Hey all! yes, I'm posting another Tilda card-but this new Magnolia collection, Butterfly Dreams is just so cute, I can't help but want to show them off.

My good friend Lori also posted a card earlier today with eggs in the perfect shade I could have and should have used, but what's eerie is that I cut the styrofoam eggs last night and took a break from completing it, because my lower back was aching so much! Turns out I have a kidney infection-not very wise of me to leave it so long!! It would have been cool had I finished it, because we are always using similar colors or the same image, and we would have posted similar cards on the same day! LOL!
I bought these eggs last year at Dollarama thinking that one day I would use them and when I saw a challenge with 'egg" in it-I just knew!! Great minds think alike.
This image is Tilda with Rubber Boots and I added some liquid glass so they would gleam. A lot of you may think-yellow boots, but there's a story behind this. A few weeks ago, I took my daughter to go buy rubber boots. There were tons to choose from and so many cool styles, and what did she pick-the plain yellow ones!! My four year-old niece even tried to convince her with some pink ones-but she didn't bite! Her reason was that nobody would pick yellow ones, therefore nobody in her class would have the same ones. Well, low and behold, doesn't one of her classmates show up with the identical boots and in the same size!! She was appalled!
Well, she's still loving them and made sure that her name was written on both sides of the inside of the boot and under the heel!!

Make Your Own DPs and Sketch

Hey all! Is it almost Friday yet? LOL-This week has seemed so long!! It was 1 C on Monday and it was -9C on Wed., but it felt much colder because of the wind!! It's a little bit warmer today, but when will Spring be here???
To perk up my mood I used this cute image of Tilda-so Spring-like with her rabbit in front of her!! I decided to enter Magnolia Down Under's Challenge and I made my own papers for this card-which was hard-because anyone who knows me, knows that I am the queen on Design Papers-love 'em, can't live without them.

So, I am going to show you what I did. For the background paper first paper, I used ink and sponged/rubbed it on in a swirl motion and then stamped flowers on the paper. For the next paper-I stitched diagonally using different colors of thread and different stitching. It actually looks pretty cool.

I also followed Just Magnolia's Sketch and am entering this week's challenge if I'm not too late!! Fairy Merry Christmas!

Hi gang! Happy Saturday! I am still at my sister's in the city, using her computer and I had to copy and paste my piccies, so they aren't the originals-they seem kind of blurry-maybe it's just me!!

I have a funny story to share with you. 2 nights ago, my sis, my son and I were going to shop and I found a green gumball on the passenger seat, so I popped it in my mouth before my sister sat down. It was hard, so I crunched down hard and this liquid squirted everywhere in my mouth and the taste was so awful that I opened my door and spat everything out onto the street! To my horror, I realized that it wasn't gum, but a paintball! I had yellow liquid all over my mouth and I ran out of the car and grabbed a handful of slushy snow on the curb and shoved it in my mouth to clean it out and spat like crazy the taste was so awful. I then ran back into her house and drenched my face in the sink!! I still have the acrid, sour taste in my mouth. They were laughing hysterically, but I was absolutely mortified!! It's funny now-but I thought I had perhaps poisoned myself at the time!! Oh, the humanity!!LOL

Hey there! Just wanted to share a clean and simple sympathy card I made last week for a friend. Brought me back to the days where you just stamped a sentiment or an image, added a ribbon and voilà! Actually I had some other ones made with other images, but they weren't right. You forget how classy a simple card can look!

To make, I just ran a portion of the paper through the cuttlebug, using an embossing folder. The other bit of paper, I punched out with my MS doily border punch. I inked the sides, added stickles, ribbon, pearls and the cherry blossoms from WOC. Hope u like! xox Trisha

Christmas Flowers!

Hey all! Happy Saturday! I'm so relieved that Spring Break is here! So, after battling this sore throat and stuffed up nose, sore chest for two weeks I finally went to the doctor's on Friday afternoon and I have a bad sinusitis,and a touch of bronchitis. I spent $150.00 on an inhaler and antibiotics-no drinking wine for me this week, or spending money on card-making supplies-wah!! But, I wouldn't have gone if it weren't for the bleeding nose I got just before leaving to go to work. I had to cough out junk (sorry-very gross) and then when I blew my nose, it just unleashed a flood of blood! I freaked out-haven't had a bleeding nose in 12 years, since my first pregnancy with my son!! I freaked mostly because I got blood on my new favorite green shirt!!LOL So, that's what made me make the Dr's appointment-otherwise I would have toughed it out some more!! Sorry, if I've grossed you out!!
On a brighter note, DCD's Christmas Club's challenge is to incorporate christmas flowers in your creation! I used thes beautiful poinsettias from prima and my roses are from WOC.
I'm entering Just Magnolia's Bingo challenge. Seeing Double!

Hey all! What a crazy week so far! I've been working on report cards til midnight and 1 am for the past 5 days-finally done today after school today! PLUS, I was in the city on Monday for another inservice, back again Tuesday afternoon for family business and an all day ressource mtg. at school today-When will I be able to teach again?! I literally feel like my candle has burned out! On top of that I'm not really feeling my mojo-waaaah! I'll recover this week-end hopefully!!

I made this card for my friend's daughter, who is attending her friends' party this week-end. Her friends are identical twins girls. I know Lori has made one also using the same image, but now the girls will receive two Tilda cards-no fights this way.

I also made this to coincide with MDCU's 2nd anniversary theme challenge, which is two use things in two's. I used 2 DPs, 2 brads, two strands of ribbon, 2 poppies, 2 corner tabs, 2 charms, and of course this beautiful image of 2 Tildas. Hey all! I'm back from Toronto safe and sound! What a whirlwind experience-fantastic, but turbo speed all the way! And amongst my travels to and from I lost my zip drive (USB key) that stored these pictures that I was to send to my dear Boss Susie as well as other important school and personal documents that i had stored there!Arrgh!

So, this is just a reminder that this week's challenge over at DCD's Christmas Club is to incorporate a song in your creation! Mine is Amy Grant's song "Love Will Keep Us Warm This Year at Christmas!" It's not a really well known song unless you had her CD in the late 80's and early 90's. My Mom thought it would be good for her children to listen to "Christian Rock" instead of all the Metallica and other heavy metal I used to listen to! HAHAHA! SO there you go! Hope u like!

We'll be outside all day doing traditional/cultural activities of the Fur-trader era! HéHo! At least there are warm-up tents if we get cold. Our first activity is snowshoeing-can't wait-haven't done that all year!

Okay- now on to more interesting stuff-this week's challenge at Fairy Fun Fridays is to make a creation inspired by a song. I used this super-cute Raindrop image and my original song inspiration was by the Eurythmics/Annie Lennox "Here Comes the Rain Again"-but I wasn't feeling it, cuz it's really about love and stuff, so my sister suggested Rhianna's "Under My Umbrella", which focuses on being a true friend to others when they're in a bind, which I have relied on lots these past few months and I hope I have returned the favor as well-plus this song is much more hip and current! LOL! I used Liquid Glass onrer umbrella to make it look wet and I colored her completely in Copics! Holy Moly! I'm entering the following challenges: Paper Shelter Challenge (Red), Sisterhood of Crafters (ribbon and brads), and Copic Creations (Use Warm colors).

New Digi Release at PCS-Meet the Knome Family and an Annoucement!

Hey there! I'm very excited to announce Pink Cat Studio's newest digi release of these darling knomes. Melissa had gotten some suggestions from some customers, due to the huge popularity that the new movie Knomeo and Juliet is getting, and so, she created these super-cute images! Iused Lulibell with her furry animal friends and Finnbert. The sentiment on Finnbert's card is from Whimsy stamps.There's such a variety with this collection and they're so darn cute!

Also, there's a contest to enter-Melissa has created a new blinkie introducing this knome family, so if you load it on your side-bar, you can enter to win the whole collection of digis! Go to the blog to see more details!

Now onto my announcement: These were my last cards posted as a design team member for Pink Cat Studio. I'm starting to take some courses in the city twice a week, and I'll need to focus my attention on my studies, and making half-hearted cards isn't an option for me, and so I'm stepping down. Designing for Pink Cat Studio was a dream of mine and I realized it!

Thank you Melissa for granting me such a wonderful opportunity and thank you to the lovely ladies with whom I designed. I was very priviledged to work with such talented women! I will miss you, but will keep in touch!

Kennedy's 100th Day Creation!

Hey gang! No card today- but I wanted to share this creation that my daughter, Kennedy, made for their 100th day of school celebration, which was supposed to be held last Friday, but school was cancelled due to the icy snow storm we had. When I told them we had no school she said "Well now I have time to make something good- I was just bringing these!" She showed me a ziploc bag full of my grandma's vintage buttons!! NOT! I just about freaked!! So, this turned out to be a great idea-she even made one for our Prairie Fairy Roberta! She's Kennedy's idol! They were celebrating today and she's very proud of her wreath-she even added 100 little gemmies! Hope u like! xox Trish

A card and Tag Set!

Hey all! I'm a little late with my Saturday post, so please bear with me!! My dear friend, Roberta has been trying to fix my blog and has literally copied my pics, text, etc.. out of my posts, and re-entered them to a new post, but every new post reverts to this left and right stuff. Blogger help says I need to change the "a" at the beginning html stuff, but I'm not comprehending their lingo, so if anyone has tips, let me know! Thanks!!:) This week's challenge at DCD's Christmas Club is to make a card and matching tag set! I used this cute image from Pink Cat Studio-his name is Hootie Pie. Colored him up with prisma pencils. I also incorporated pre-made tags from Hallmark (split the snowflake one in half, which became the top of the tag) and recycled the sentiment from an old christmas card! I'll try to find some challenges, but there doesn't seem to be too many Christmas ones lately. Hope u like! xox Trish

Rapunzel, Let Down Your Hair!

Happy Friday! Boy, was I glad to get home in one piece yesterday- I saw one car slide into the ditch yesterday on my way home from the city-they just skidded once sideways and ploof into the ditch! 5 minutes later, there was another car nose into the ditch and the tow truck must have been taking the driver home or to meet someone else, but I followed it the whole way home. Thankfully I was less than a half hour away, but talk about white knuckling my steering wheel! Now, onto a better topic-this cute rapunzel image from Pink Cat Studio. Melissa made a whole bunch of free sentiments that go well with the Fairytale theme, but I used my chipboard letters- I think I've found a new obsession-using chipboard! LOL. Hiya- I know, I know-I told you that I was going to post a Valentine's card later on the 14th, but life always seems to get in the way! Plus, my blogger problem stiil isn't solved and my camera refused to upload pictures for another DT blog challenge-it's been a very hairy day!! Now, onto this card... As some of you might know, my good friend and fellow DT member, Lori loves ducks sooo much.! Thus, I made her this Valentine's card, and should have given it to her before the 14th, because she and her DH left on a cruise on the 12th! She'll get it this week-end I guess! Hey all! Happy Valentine's Day!! I cannot figure out why Blogger is doing this to me-why is all my text to the left and my pictures to the right? It started doing this on Thursday night when I scheduled my Sat and Sun. post! Did I mess with he html? HELP!! I'll post a card for Valentine's Day a little later today, right now I have to show off my son's B-day card! He didn't want anything fancy or for it to say Happy Birthday, just this snowboarder Billy image available at Pink Cat Studio. The"Cool Dude" is all chipboard from a huge package I bought at Winners for $9.99 and have put three sheets in my blog candy.
